Mikey Holmes - The man who fell to the earth and survived!
Personal Information
I am currently living in Taupo, New Zealand. I am qualified as a Tandem Instructor, AFF Instructor, Coach and Videographer. I have been involved in skydiving since my first tandem jump at the age of 16 and from that moment I was hooked. In 2000 I became a licensed skydiver and haven’t looked back since. By the age of 19 I had logged over 1000 jumps, worked as a videographer and competed in skydiving competitions. I took my passion to new levels by becoming an AFF and Tandem Instructor when I was 20 years old. I consider myself extremely lucky that my passion has become my job. Not only is my job fun, but also very rewarding from taking first time jumpers to helping students gain their license to jump alone. From 2003 I took my passion for flying high performance canopies to the next level by joining the British team for the 1st World Cup for Canopy Piloting. I have been competing ever since for the British team and to this day I remain active in canopy piloting competitions around the world. I am currently sponsored by GO FAST, Larson & Brusgard, and Cloud 9 Skydiving, all of which are helping me to get to the top of my sporting profession.

In December 2006 I had a skydiving accident hitting the ground at a speed of around 100kph, which should have resulted in my death. The incident was one in a million, and was amazingly recorded by my helmet camera all the way to impact and beyond. In conjunction with this, my terrifying plunge to earth was captured by another skydiver who was also filming at the time. Due to the nature of the accident and the fact that it is on film, there has been major media interest for the story and for use of the footage. If you have any enquiries please contact:
